Starting and running a business is no child’s play. That is the reason over 80% of small businesses fail within the first 2 years. ThuthukaSA was almost one of them. We had close to 200 customers and we woke up one day to find we had lost all of them [that’s a story for another day]. I had to work hard to reduce our overhead costs accordingly. When we attended a Business Women’s  Association Expo at Nedbank Sandton, I was on a serious mission.

I knew that unless I moved into more affordable offices, ThuthukaSA was going to sink. I was not about to let us become another statistic. I networked and got business cards from almost every other enterpreneur who was also exhibiting. Ha, I got what I was looking for. When I arrived home in the evening and went through the business cards, I knew I had to speak to Mulalo. To cut the long story short, amongst other help, she agreed to let us “squat’ in her offices while we were looking for new offices. While everyone was having fun and resting over Christmas holidays, I was moving furniture out of our offices. The furniture was moved out of the old offices on 30 December 2017.

We squatted with Mulalo for two months and finally took occupation of our new offices on 1 March 2018. It is tough being an entreprenuer in South Africa. Sometimes the very big corporates that you expect to support you are the very ones that would do whatever it takes to kill your little business. You find yourself overwhelmed and wondering if you should follow through with legal action or you should focus your time and energy on starting over and rebuilding your business. Mulalo is NOT just a brilliant Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor, she has a big heart too. That is the kind of person I feel lucky to have in my team. She is now helping us with UIF registrations and will be signing off our Annaul Financial Statements, amongst other things. Her other services include:

  • Accounting Services
  • Auditing services
  • Taxation Services – this is very handy for our customers who also need assistance with their tax returns and other tax matters
  • Business Advisory services

So if you need a Chartered Accountant who is also an entrepreneur and understands the needs and challenges of SMMEs, look no further. You can contact:
