I was part of the GMT Women Creating Wealth program in 2024. It was tough and there were plenty sleepless nights as I was going through the studies and submitting assignments. The sacrifice is nothing compared to the benefits I now enjoy. Often times we struggle to grow our revenues and our businesses because we fail to realise that business success is a science, it can be learned.

Most importantly, how you think is very important. I went there as a masters’ in business leadership degree holder and I thought I knew a lot about business and thank goodness I still registered for the program because had I not joined, ThuthukaSA would still be stagnant even now. We are nowhere near where I hope to take ThuthukaSA to but at least there is a business plan in place and for the first time in the history of ThuthukaSA, I am looking for funding for our initiatives.

You can bootstrap so far but at some point if you want exponential growth for your business, you must be willing to take the risk and look for funding. The women creating wealth program has given me sufficient know – how that the risk we are taking is small in comparison to what we stand to gain. So next time there is a program for entrepreneurs, don’t hesitate to join. I still do not believe that the program was FREE! Thanks to FASSET for funding the program. I will pay it forward regardless.

As we speak, I have founded A-Win = African Women Investment Network, together with other alumni of the program. A-Win is now open to all women interested to joining us and this is just the beginning of how we are going to put in practice what we have learned. I hope you will be inspired by the video
